Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated as a birthday of deity Ganesha. On Ganesh Chaturthi, Lord Ganpati is worshipped as the symbol of wisdom, gain and good luck. He is the destroyer of all evil and obstacles. We shall pray that he comes to our house with Ridhi Sidhi and Subh Labh. Where ever he is worshipped Maa Lakshmi arrives and stays till he is there.
The Ganeshotsav, the festivity of Ganesh Chaturthi, ends after 10 days on Anant Chaturdashi ( Anant Chaturdashi is the most significant day to worship Lord Vishnu in Anant form. On this day devotees of Lord Vishnu observe a day long fast and tie sacred thread during Puja.) which is also known as Ganesh Visarjan day. (Ganesha Visarjan can be done on the same day of Ganesha Chaturthi after Ganesha Puja. Most Puja Vidhi(s) of Hindu deities include either Visarjan or Utthapana at the end of the Puja. However, Ganesha Visarjan on the same day of Ganesha Chaturthi is less popular.) This means that Ganesha has taken away all the problems from the worshipper’s life.
